Maximum safety and mobility for civil defence

The German Red Cross (DRK) local association Schramberg KV Rottweil e.V. is a key player in civil protection and emergency care. With the ambulance vehicle (GW-SAN), which is specially designed for major incidents and mass casualty situations, the DRK has a mobile treatment station with comprehensive equipment. In this context, mobility, ergonomics and safety play a decisive role. Two specially equipped transport trolleys with Blickle castors ensure fast and efficient on-site deployment.

The GW-SAN carries essential components for medical first aid, including an inflatable treatment tent and a powerful emergency generator. These are placed on two robust trolleys that are unloaded through a tail lift. Due to the heavy weight and bulky shape, several helpers would be required to assist without a suitable transport solution. Heavy and bulky equipment makes transport difficult, different locations require a high degree of flexibility and reliability of the transport trolleys, and safety when manoeuvring on different surfaces must be guaranteed.

In order to facilitate the transport of heavy loads, the trolleys have been equipped with Blickle LE-VE and B-VE series castors. The large wheel diameter of 200 millimetres in combination with the rubber tyre enables obstacles to be overcome gently and ensures a quiet and smooth ride on uneven surfaces. In addition, the high traction of the rubber tyre prevents uncontrolled slipping, even on wet or slippery surfaces. A special safety feature is the Blickle Central Stop function. It ensures a reliable locking of the wheel by means of a non-positive and extremely stable mechanism, which is designed for high safety and durability. In addition, the trolley features an integrated dead man's switch for maximum control. The brake is only released when the handle is pressed, which means that the trolley can only be moved consciously. This well-thought-out design prevents unintentional rolling and significantly increases safety during use.

Thanks to the high-quality Blickle castors, the DRK helpers benefit from a considerably easier operation. The heavy transport trolleys can be unloaded and safely transported to the scene by only one helper. The smooth mobility reduces loss of time and increases efficiency when setting up the treatment area. The robust design of the castors ensures reliable and long-term use under demanding conditions.
